A FEW SIMPLE STEPS

How to add page numbers

Add clear page numbers to reports, handouts, and application bundles.

  1. Choose your PDF and the pages to number.
  2. Set position, starting number, size, color, and margin. Preview before saving.
  3. Download your numbered PDF.

A practical example

Number a merged report after arranging all its pages. Leave the cover out of the selected range if numbering should begin on the next page.

Questions about add page numbers

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Choose a page range that starts after the cover, such as 2–10, and choose the starting number for that range. Preview the first affected page before saving.

Will this replace page numbers already printed in the PDF?

No. It adds new visible numbers. Existing numbers remain, so use a different position or a document without printed numbers to avoid confusing duplicates.

Does this change my original file?

No. Add page numbers creates a new downloadable file. The original on your device remains unchanged.

What should I do if processing fails?

Try fewer pages or a smaller file. Open the PDF in a trusted PDF editor to check for damage or encryption. Password-protected files must first be exported using the valid password. Existing printed numbers are not removed. Check the preview so new numbers do not overlap document content.

Will my files be saved here?

Working files are held in browser memory. Use Start over or close the tab to release the working state. Downloads remain on your device; this site cannot delete them.
